Can an AST be assigned (to landlord's successor)?
Can the AST continue unaffected if the landlord is succeeded and/or if he assigns the role to another landlord? If yes, does that mean that the deposit can stay in place too? Is there a special notice or form to use?
This must happen regularly in various circumstances e.g. landlord passes away, landlord changes letting agents, landlord sells property, landlord restructures portfolio sole-trader to partnership to company.
