I thought checkout was normally on or after the date of the end of the notice period - when tenancy will end.
My tenant is now saying that if it isnt done on the day (which happens to be a sunday) or early next day (which is a bank holiday) there could be damages for which she's not responsible ... (hint hint ... I wont accept any responsibility for the house!).

She says she is finishing moving her stuff out before the date for which she gave notice,
and I should come then. Can anyone forsee problems with doing checkout early ..
(eg tenant might claim not liable for rent before that date, ...

On the other hand I could get on with getting estimates for work.

Also I have heard that one should give the tenant the chance to eg complete cleaning maintenance themselves before getting into to deposit claim proceedings
but if tenant has to give back key before/at checkout (which I am told by inventory clerk) ... how does that work ... they would have to come back to the property ... could this be a problem?
(My tenant is abroad and will have her POA attend the checkout)
