I am in the process of purchasing a buy to let property with a tenant in situ. When I enquired about contents I was told from vendor that property is being sold as seen. The estate agent I am buying the property from have a copy of AST which expired in 2016. I understand that landlord is now managing property himself.
Upon meeting the tenant today I have been told that the bed and sofas belong to the landlord. The tenant would like a new bed. As I could find no fire labels on sofa I decided I would dump sofa and purchase a new one for him. My question is do I have new tenancy agreement drawn up ideally unfurnished? or bite bullet and purchase new bed. Solicitor seems useless as she keeps saying we are only doing conveyancing.
