Hi,

I have recently purchased a flat in a relatively small block. We have been told that there is a charge every time the property is let to a new occupier. It is in the lease but was not highlighted by our solicitor. We own lots of other flats and I am aware that you have to pay a fee to register a new owner, but I have not come across this before.

Has anyone else come across this? Is it legal? I am not worried about the cost currently, as it isn't a huge amount, but there is not a fixed amount in the lease. Is there anything to stop them charging a ridiculous fee in the future?

Many thanks
