TENANTS REFERENCE FEES.
Regarding the current situation with the above, where tenants do not have to pay for checks, for those of us who use agents for tenant finding, does anyone envisage the impact on renting?
Should a tenant require a guarantor, who pays for that reference as well? I have seen some companies advertise for tenant referencing with right to rent checks inclusive. If this turns out to be the case, since it is not the landlords' fault that we have been turned into "immigration officers", who pays for that as well?
Landlords have lost out on tax relief, we are having to pay for Landlord registration schemes as well. Does anyone know what percentage of that we can claim tax relief on?
Do we see a way forward for landlords as it seems all these costs will be passed on to us? How do we charge fair rents?
