I have a concern regarding a property that i let. i have received a letter from the bailif regardng unpaid council tax from 2005. i wrote a letter last year to the council about the unpaid council tax liability, saying that the property was empty of furniture and put up for sale during the period of liability which is six months. however they wrote back saying the property was seen to have furniture in by one of their inspectors and they have said the liability still stands. where do i stand on this because the property was empty of furniture and and put up for sale. due to no customers we took it back off the market and since have put in a new tenants in.
