The catch is that the company sent us a reference 6 months ago confirming he was on monthly payroll, we looked up their website, phoned up the boss on the number on the website and he confirmed that our tenant worked for them and that he had indeed sent the reference.
We are about £3000 down. It seems to me that as the employers has lied we could sue him for the money due. He would have to deny sending the reference but as we also spoke to him it is pretty dodgy - not that this is likely to mean much to them anyway. Any thoughts as to the liklihood of success?
