Independant Advice vs Corporate
We have a tenant vacating after he provided notice leave. We have been trying to contact him regarding check out but his phone rings overseas and there is at least 4 weeks post on the doormat. Our advice is if he fails to arrive for check out you need to go for possession order. A corporate agent has advised just go ahead, do the check out and change the locks, they do it all the time based on assumption the tenant asked to leave. Correct procedure please?
