Tenants in HMO given written notice and has now changed their mind
I have a HMO with 6 tenants. One tenant who has been renting a room for 3 years and paid on time no problems at all . For last 2 years he has not lived in property but paid on time etc . ( lived with his partner)
He's given notice to leave . One of the other tenants have asked for his room and agreed to pay £50 more per month for it is a very large en-suite room etc . I have said yes .
2 weeks in he's now changed his mind and wants to stay . His partner and him have broken up .
I don't know what to do and where I stand legally . He gave his notice in writing he has an AST on a periodic month to month contract
I had also got a new tenant for the spare room the existing tenant was moving from
