I need some advice regarding Service Charges please - I am the Leaseholder for 4 Flats that are in a block where the Management Company is also the Freeholder. My Management company do not send out service charge budgets and I have been requesting a copy of the audited service charge accounts for the 12 month period ending June 2016 since December 2016. I have never been sent a copy - just an email advising they will be a "few weeks". The Management company will not communicate by telephone, only email.
I have now received an Invoice of nearly £700 per Flat for "Balance Charge" for the 12 month period ending June 2016. I have no way of checking this figure against any audited accounts - is this legal, can this charge be enforced?
