Can you help?
My tenants have had a smart meter professional fitted by their electricity supplier. They have ended their tenancy and vacated in the normal way on Sunday last. On Monday my letting agent discovered there was no electricity supply as the new meter was dead, apparently switched off.
Enquiries with the electricity distributor revealed that when the tenant notifies their supplier they have vacated the supplier disconnects the supply until a new customer creates an account. It would seem logical except of course if the heating needs to be operational or the alarm system needs to be operational or you want to view the property in the dark.
Tuesday evening and still no electricity!
Has anyone any ideas how this problem can be overcome?
