Can you tell me if there is (and where) legislation which puts the responsibiity for provided white goods on the landlord?

The 1985 Act mentions responsibility for supply of power but not other fixtures and fittings which use the power supply. However, it's felt by several of the forums I have visited that provision of white goods at the start of a tenancy IMPLIES (contract law) responsibility.

Is there any case law you are aware of regarding this.

best regards and thanks
