I have rented a three bed house to a family for the past 6 years, they unfortunately have a disabled daughter and now claim benefits.

They are the perfect tenants and I have experienced no issues.

I have been approached by my local council who wish to build an extension on the house for a downstairs wet room and bedroom, as well as changes to the upstairs bathroom.

The only commitment they have asked from me is that I comfirm I intend to rent the property to the tenant for another 5 years, obviously I've asked what happens if things changes within the 5 year period but they've not been 100% clear, my solicitor is currently dealing with that aspect, but is there anything else I should be wary of?
