Lead tenant leaving

I have another issue I have not come across before which I hope someone can help me with please.

I rent a flat to a young unmarried couple - both named on the agreement. Excellent tenants so far - approx. 9 months, so now on a monthly periodic (standard RLA agreement) The lead tenant has taken a job other side of the country so will be leaving the flat. The partner wants to remain. I am happy with this as they both have good jobs and I like them both.

A couple of questions;

  1. Do I need to issue a new agreement since the lead tenant is moving out?
  2. The lead tenant paid the deposit - do I return it and collect a new one from the remaining tenant and re-register it.

anything else?
