I have 5 properties that are rented out and have been for in excess of 10 years. I intend to sell my home that I have owned for 5 years and purchase another house that will be my home.
Will my purchase be subjected to the 4% stamp duty surcharge?
If I sell my home before I purchase my next home, will I be subjected to the 4%surchare on purchase?
If I purchase my new home before I sell my extant home and have to pay the 4% surcharge can I claim it back on the sale of my extant home?
Which way is the most tax efficient?
