Anti Money LAundering Regs - June 2017
I have a property owned by three members of my family. We each own a third of it, and rent is paid into a bank account specifically for this property with all three names on it.
Only I look after the day-to-day running of the property (including contracts, etc), and so only my name appears on council tax (when empty), energy bills, etc INCLUDING THE CONTRACT.
I have a letting agent saying that according to Anti Money Laundering Regs that came into force in June 2017, the contract needs now to be updated so that all three owners names are on the contract.
Is this true?
