Ground rent obligations
I have a flying freehold/intervening lease on a property and the lessee pays me £200 per year. The property recently changed hands with a year's ground rent owing to me.
The new owner/lessee seems perfectly reasonable and asserts the debt belongs to the previous lessee. My understanding is that the debt is attached to the property and his solicitor should have checked with me that the previous lessee was up to date.
I don't want to spend money on legal fees on a relatively trivial amount but I would not mind having an opinion from people on here about it!
