Landlord responsible for electricity supply - tenant wont put money on the meter
I recently took on a couple of Housing benefit tenants. They spend their benefits without saving enough to put money on the gas and electricity meters leading to times they have no supply. It's a landlord responsibility to ensure they have a supply and I'd guess they could say that the landlord has to put money onto the meter to be fulfilling that responsibility. Anyone know whether a Landlord can be forced to pay the money onto the card to meet the obligation - advice on what to do should they try to force the landlord to pay for their electricity and gas? Their deposit can be used to refund some but not indefinitely.
