Stamp duty rebate after disposal of property
I bought a flat which cost £500k and had to pay the extra 3% stamp duty as my partner had another property. We are now selling the flat as we are splitting up and it will be within 3 years of purchase. I will affectively not own a property, am I entitled to a rebate on the extra 3% stamp duty paid?Everything I have read suggests the rebate would only be possible on the sale of the property bought first, not second but that doesn’t seem fair.
