DOUBLE STANDARDS BY COUNCILS
Last week, there was a BBC programme where council tenants were housed in squalid conditions by a London council I shall not name. It happens to be one of the councils who are really HARD on landlords.
There was severe mould in the properties. In one of the houses, there was a burst pipe wth water actually pouring down. The tenant claimed she had complained to the council and nothing had been done about it. There was also a mention of possible foul waste leak, and nothing was done about it.
How many private landlords would be allowed to get away with that?
My point here is, these are the very councils who are making money out of landlords under the guise of registering landlords to make sure they provide suitable housing for tenants.
HOW CAN THEY MONITOR LANDLORDS WHEN THEY THEMSELVES HAVE NOT "CLEANED THEIR OWN BACKYARDS"?
