The niece of my wife lived in a shared house with 4 other girls until 9th March when the landlords gave them notice as they wanted to move back in. 1 tenant had already left leaving 4 and now 2 of the girls have now moved out leaving the niece and one other. The landlords have now informed them that they will be moving back into the house on 18th April.

My question is; Can the landlord(s) move in whilst their tenancies are in force? Each tenant has an individual AST. Due to previous tenants who had shared with the landlords saying the landlords had entered their rooms to check on things without consent, can she fit locks to her door for the time they share, if they have to share?

Any comments would be appreciated.
