Hi, Iíve read about the new room size guidelines coming into force for HMO bedrooms, but Iím still a little confused. A lot of my properties are self contained flats in converted buildings and came under the umbrella of HMOs 10+ years ago. I applied for licences, but luckily these arenít needed at present.
Iím refurbishing a very outdated flat at the moment which was a large bed-sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. I want to make it into a living kitchen with shower room and bedroom (the old bathroom). The old bathroom is 2.4 x 2.3m. The flat is large and would accommodate a couple comfortably- all be it with a small bedroom.
Do self contained flats within a building now classed as an HMO come under the same bedroom size guidelines?
