Managing Agents Fees
I own a leasehold flat. The managing agent had imposed an admin fees for services they performed outside their agreement with the freehold. The rationale for the admin fee is to cover their time for the administration of the receiving, calculating and issuing the fees to all leaseholders.
As a leaseholder, I do not have a contractual relationship with the managing agent. Since:
(a) my lease with the freeholder has no provision that I need to pay the managing agent additional admin fees for the services they performed outside their management agreement with the freeholder
(b) the managing agent did not have the freeholder's consent to charge the leaseholders the additional admin fees
(c) the freeholder did not request me to pay the managing agent the admin charges
Am I right to think the managing agent does not have a lawful basis to impose these charges?
