i have just read on the www.hse.gov.uk website the following;

"There is a legal duty for landlords to assess and control the risk of exposure to legionella bacteria, but Health and Safety law does not require landlords to produce or obtain, nor does HSE recognise, a 'Legionnaires testing certificate'.

what does that mean or me as a landlord. is this message not a contradiction? i am concerned! can someone please explain if i should ensure the hot water in my rentals should be tested? There are no air-con systems in any of our rentals.

Any advice gratefully received. Thank you!
