Tenant has made a large indent on a walnut block wood worktop. They has accepted liability, landlord wants this repaired and suggested a charge of £280, tenant is unhappy with this charge and is questioning the cost, they have asked for more quotes, unfortunately two people we have asked have both said this this indentation is not repairable due to it being deep. I suspect the landlord will say he want the cost of replacement, but the worktop and kitchen is about 12 years old, however the worktop is still usable. any advice on how to come to a fair compensation amount?
