Hello,

The living room ceiling in a house I rent out collapsed last week, and this will hopefully be covered by the buildings insurance. The tenant is requesting that I provide her and her family with temporary accommodation while the repair work is carried out, as that room will be out of action, and there is likely to be a lot of mess when the remaining plaster ceiling is pulled down.

The tenant has also requested that the hallway / stairs and landing are redecorated as they are quite shabby now, and this will mean that the walls will need to be re-plastered. Again this will cause a significant disruption.

I need to know if I am obligated in providing temporary accommodation while the work is being carried out.

Regards,
