Dear Sir,
I wonder if you could help?
My niece has got herself into a tenancy that she really needs to end, for various personal reasons. I advised her that she should ask her Managing Agent if they would be happy for her to assign the tenancy to a new tenant by way of a Deed of Assignment. They have refused, stating that THEY had to re-let the property and charging her quite astronomical fees.
Are they allowed to do this? There is nothing in their contract that says they have the right to refuse the DoA. Is there anything we could do?
Thanking you in advance for your assistance.
Yours,
Milton
