AST with no fixed term
A friend of mine has drafted his own AST but forgotten to specify a fixed term.... Would the tenancy therefore be subject to the 6 month fixed term under statute, or would it simply be considered FT without end (it does have a clause stating notice by landlord and tenant during the periodic term). The easiest thing would of course be for the LL to simply issue a variation, but the tenant will not accept this and has stated he will fight it. Many thanks for your thoughts on this matter.
