How many Landlords are aware that it is 'common practise' for Council Housing Depts to advise tenants to stay in properties until forced to leave by court order / balifs? (which goes against the Homelessness Code of Guidance for Local Authorities 2006). My tenant can not afford rent and has been honest enough to tell me how bad her situation is. She has a 2year old girl and nowhere to go but they refuse to give her accomodation as they say she can stay until legally forced to leave and only then will she be offered accomodation. Do they care what financial hardship they are putting honest Landlords through??
