Do I need an additional Licence?
The local council in Hackney are rolling out a licensing scheme including additional licensing
I have 2 properties that are let (fully managed) via a letting agency to a company. On the tenancy agreement there is the company name. The properties are generally occupied by a maximum of 4 households (i.e. 4 sharers).
My letting agent is saying I do not require an additional licence for them (as there is 1 'name' on the contract) however my experience and the fact that there can be 4 people living in the house suggests to me that I do as I am thinking that the number of people in the property determines its status.
Please will you let me know whether I need to apply for the licence or not (London Borough of Hackney).
