Astronomical additional service charges
Freeholder of one of our long lease properties wants to "redecorate" the exterior of the building - its cedarwood, by the coast, has a long life, but "they" don't like the colour variation, so want to paint it - my gripe is that scaffolding would need to be erected on our GF terrace, (for goodness knows how long!) and we don't feel the work is necessary. Not to mention the fact there would be a huge one off addition to our service charge. I remember (I think) Shaheen recently pointed out some legal hoops freeholders have to jump thro before such works can be done. Can anyone enlighten please?
