How are people accounting for mortgage cashback - i.e. a payment from the mortgage lender to you once the loan is taken out.

Is it taxable?

If it was a personal loan unconnected with a buy to let, I would just be pocketing the money without thought, but as it's for a BTL and the mortgage fees can be offset against tax, I think maybe the cashback should be treated differently.
