Correct legal process for arranging access
I attended a landlords meeting last night where the issue of the correct way to carry out inspections was raised.
Two Agents said there legal advice was they could write a letter stating they will attend to do a visit on such a date giving them notice and hand deliver it or even take a picutre with the tenant and a newspaper receiving the letter. They would say on the letter if they do not hear anything etc they assume it is ok to proceed with the inspections.
On the other hand most private landlords disagreed and said with out the tenants acknowledgement the inspections cannot be done and they have to let you in etc.
Can you clarify the correct and best legal way to do this?
