Extending AST Tenancy
I have a tenant on a fixed term AST. The tenancy is due to end but he wants to continue to stay for a few more months. I have used the RLA tenancy agreement so the tenancy can continue as a contractual periodic tenancy. My mortgage company requires that the tenancy contract should be an AST. Please can you advise on the following:
- When an AST becomes a contractual periodic tenancy, is it still regarded as AST?
- My deposit is registered with TDS. Can I continue that or do I have to re-register it?
- I have rent guard insurance, can I continue this on a contractual periodic tenancy?
- Do I need to perform the right to rent checks again?
