What should I consider before using separate tenancies for two tenants sharing a flat?
I rent out a 2 bed flat, previously always on a single tenancy. However I would now like to use two separate tenancy agreements for two unrelated people to share the flat. Are there any additional considerations I need to bear in mind before doing this? I will also take separate deposits from the two tenants, and protect the deposits separately. Specifically, is there any risk that the flat could be considered an HMO? (The flat is in Manchester City Council area). Many thanks, Mark
