I have a number of battery operated alarms in each property.

I have a clause in the tenancy agreement (which the tenants sign) making them responsible for checking the alarms on a weekly basis and stating that they are responsible for replacing the batteries when necessary.
Also stating that if after changing the batteries they then find that the alarm is defective that they should contact me immediately.

Would the above be viewed as a fair term in the contract?
I would be grateful for any advice.
