HMO Room size confusion....
I am not 100% clear on the HMO room sizes. Looking at this article: https://www.rla.org.uk/landlord/guides/room-sizes-for-houses-in-multiple-occupation.shtml
Mentions single person room size of 6.51 m2 for over 10 years old. Does this mean if a council has a higher room size minimum you wouldn't be able to get a license? Or does the council only have a recommendation.
So for Southwark Council in London, their single person room size is 10 m2. But this is dating back to 2015.
Reading the article mention above the last paragraph:
However, while local authorities are entitled to produce guidance on what room size they consider acceptable, they are not able to apply their guidance as if it has statutory force.
Any help would be great.
