2 Thanks
We own two leasehold flats, each in a separate block of four flats. The service charge has climbed steadily. The freeholders are 200 miles away. We would like to force the sale of the freehold, so that we can do our own repairs etc through our own contractors, and without an added management fee for no apparent benefit. Grateful if you could advise: Do we need to own 2 or 3 flats in the same block of 4, to force a sale? Which legislation should we be looking at? Are there any simple guides to it, so that we could read up on how to do it? If the block of 4 is joined to another block of 4 by one common wall (as in the case of one of the flats), will the freehold be treated as one block of 8 flats?
Thank you
