New tenants - can only one be put on the tenancy agreement?
I have prospective new tenants for a flat - a girlfriend and boyfriend. The girlfriend would like to be the only one on the tenancy agreement and be the one responsible for paying the rent etc. The boyfriend would live with her (rent free) so if they were to split up he would need to leave and the flat would still be her home. Iím not sure if this is good from the landlords point of view - should he go on the agreement and should he be referenced anyway? Neither have rented previously.
