Hi,

First post on the forum but keen to get some advice.

During Jan/Feb time we had an issue with mice entering the kitchen bin area, top floor flat in a victorian block of 5 flats.

In addition, the other freeholders confirmed some of their tenants had also spotted mice.

As the landlord for my flat, I visited the flat, and blocked up all the holes that they seemed to be using to get into the bins.

Since this time, the good news is that my tenants have not seen any mice for the last 2-3 months and we agreed they'd put the bins out more regularly.

However, do I have a responsibility to do any more now to ensure the mice definitely aren't in the property? Being a big old victorian it seems inevitable that mice will enter during winter, but I am concerned that they might chew electrical cables / be a safety hazard or cause other damage. Do I have to involve pest control if the mice seem to have gone away?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.
