I have a house that my son jointly owns and he is going to live in with student friends.I have been looking at the new Lacors Guidance and would like some clarification as to what constitutes a "small" shared house. As HMO rules apply and no fire doors are necessary when 4 people are sharing but when 5 share (over 3 floors)it becomes licensable with fire doors needed. Does this now mean that providing the doors are all well fitting that this will cover a 5 share property and I don't need fire doors? Fire alarms are mains wired and 10yr battery back-up .
