I've had a leasehold flat for the last 6 years, which has been let out on various AST's for its entirity without issue. Out of the blue, I have received a letter from the freeholders agents asking for 330 to grant me a licence which will constitute their permission for me to sub-let. I have checked my copy of the lease & can find no mention of any fees payable, just one clause which states that I must 'not under-let the whole or part of the Demised Premises, save that an under-letting of the whole of the Demised Premises is permitted in the case of an AST....with the prior written consent of the Manager or its agents (such consent not to be reasonably witheld or delayed'.
Are these guys just out on a fishing trip, sending this to all owners in the hope that some will bite??
