Government to Blight your property.
If you subscribe to the forthcoming compulsory upgrading of your property the costs will be added to that property's energy bill for up to 25 years. The costs stay with the building irrespective if you sell it or rent it. So would you buy or rent a building that has extra high energy costs compared with neighbouring buildings.
When the unfairness was pointed out the response was that landlords had not improved their housing stock under existing government measures. Well do you know what those existing measures are? They are tax breaks under LESA Scheme and capital allowances. So is the government is to remove the tax breaks and impose a new energy axe instead.
