Hi

Please can I have some advice?

A tenant of ours reported that a radiator was leaking in her room when she came home. She said the thermostat looked damaged and thats where the water was coming from.

My husband arrived at the property within half an hour and replaced the thermostat stopping the leak. The thermostat had been damaged as it was bent and the leak would not have happened unless it had been knocked either by the tenant or someone else in the house.

The tenant has said that the water damaged her electric keyboard.

We did not charge the tenant for the repair or the damage....would it be our insurance that needs to pay for the damage of the keyboard or the tenants own house insurance? We have landlords insurance but have never claimed on it before.....

The leak was not our fault but it is our radiator?

Advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
