My tenants have told me by telephone they wish to move out. I requested they tell me in writing. It is now a week later, and the day before their last month starts, and I have not had anything in writing yet. Is 'notice' only valid when given in writing and depend upon this date (ie if they don't get a letter to me today they have missed the deadline for the contractual date and must pay another month's rent), or does the date they telephoned count? If I can find tenants sooner I would try and sort something out for the existing tenants

Many thanks
