Terminating contract with the letting agent
Need to get away from a devious,money grabbing incompetent letting agent. Six months initial contract (expired).Thirty days notice of termination required. The current tenant found by the agent. If the contract terminated now the agent is to be paid 1.5 months rent.
Can we serve written notice now of our wish to terminate their services once the current tenant vacate the property or do we have to wait till the tenant leaves or give notice to leave before we serve the 30 days notice?
What happens if the landlord want possession of the property for himself or to sell vacant possession - is the agent entitle to the above 1.5 Months rent - there is nothing specifically on this point in the agreement. Technically it is not the agents agreement we are terminating only the tenancy.
