I have been following some of the forums topic on Council Tax liability.

Am I correct in understanding that the Council Tax liability falls to the Landlord of a House in Multiple Occupation?

My Question is:

If a landlord lets a house in Multiple Occupation to tenants on an individual basis (separate contracts)and a clause in the AST states that the tenant is required to pay any Council Tax which may be levied upon the property. Is the clause deemed to be an 'Unfair Contract' and the liabilty of payment falls to the Landlord and the tenant is not responsible.
