Earlier this year I lost a considerable amount of money due to the failure of a letting agent in respect of payments received by them for deposit and rent payments made by my tenants that I have been unable to recover.

I have seen become aware that they were also members of RLA and in fact included the RLA logo on their business cards.

Does this offer a victim (tenants or landlord) any tangible additional recourse or is it purely a cosmetic assurance of a "reliable supplier"?
