I guess like many of you I have been reading as much as possible on this subject.I have reached the conclusion that the best and most straightforward option is the insurance based scheme.
I have considered other options;custodial,2 months rent up front,no deposit... et al.I will charge new tenants to cover my costs.
So the bit I am struggling with is that the Government has appointed one body to administer this scheme and costs are circa 58 to join the scheme then 30 per property with an annual renewal of circa 15...I think I have this correct ( see www.Tenancy Deposit Scheme Ltd; this company is a tie up between NLA and an insurance company)).
They offer a discount to other organisations.
Questions:
As a member of RLA is there a discount that has been negotiated....does anyone know?
Do insurance brokers offer a scheme with TDS Ltd?
