If one of a shared household of 5 does not pay the last month's rent, and there is no security deposit available, are all the tenants liable, or do we just file a small claims court with the tenant who owes us rent?
I have copied the part in our contract which might help!

Where either party is two or more people, their

One tenant who has overdue rent but says he will pay at the end of this month says he should not be taken to court with the house ( not that we have said we would!)

Thanks for your help!
